SATELLITE RADIO APPLICATIONS
All standard Transportable, Fixed Site, and Vehicular configurations of the Hughes 2100 MSAT G2 Satellite Telephone/Push-To-Talk Satellite Radio have the same three basic components:
- Radomed Auto Acquire Antenna
- Electronics Unit (Modem)
- Master Handset
A few special options distinguish the different applications:
The Transportable Fly-Away Kit gives the user the flexibility to use the system in all three deployments. Housed in a Pelican ruggedized hard case with the magnetic antenna mounts and cigarette lighter DC power adapter, it can be used on any vehicle, and will automatically track the satellite while the vehicle is moving for true on-the-move communications.
Also included with this package is the flexibility of AC or DC power, with a 120 Volt AC Power Supply and an external speaker for noisy environments while using the Push-To-Talk Satellite Radio Network.
The Fixed Site System comes with a Mast Mounting Pole for external building installation and a 150' RF Antenna Cable with Connectors.
As an option we can provide connectivity to a standard telephone system (PBK Key System) or POT (plain old telephone) connection with a 2-wire telephone interface and or a Master Handset extension device that will enable fixed installations in very large buildings where the Antenna Cable maximum length restrictions are exceeded.
The G2 Land Mobile System is packaged with a 20' Antenna Cable for permanent vehicle installation. As an option this configuration can be interfaced to an existing in vehicle VHF/UHF radio system as a means to extend your existing trunked radio system to dead zones and black holes. This gives the user continued radio contact even while out of traditional coverage areas.
