FIXED SITE

FIXED SITE APPLICATIONS

Fixed Site Applications are necessary for any building or home where satellite system functionality and operation is necessary Inside the building. All satellite systems require "Line of Site" to the satellite and an Antenna placement outside is absolutely necessary for correct operation and maximum performance. In these instances an external type antenna is installed outside with direct viewing to the satellites or satellite.

For LEO (Low Earth Orbit) constellations such as Iridium or Globalstar, smaller Omni-Directional Antenna are used with Antenna mounting as high as possible with a maximum view of 360 degrees to the horizon for optimal signal strength and performance. It is possible to have some obstructions to the sky, but this will degregate overall system performance. The more blockage to the sky the lower overall quality of service. These Antennas are extremely suitable for boats of all sizes with excellent performance in high seas.

For (GEO) Geosynchronous Satellite Constellations such as Inmarsat BGAN and VSAT systems, a directional antenna pointed directly to the satellite is necessary. This "Look Angle" is critical and must have no obstructions for maximum signal strength and performance.
